"You may want to know, Fuski." Said the young boy, his voice cracked from emotions.
"Listen. We don't have any time for that! You need to get to those goddamn doors and save Kat!" The voice of the angry teen softly dropped as Skyes opened his mouth.
"She's. Dead."

On her first day of her second year, Maya starts hearing the rumors. They're impossible to ignore, whispers in the halls, sideways glances, and soft giggles when Leo walks by. His name always seems to come up in the same breath as tragedy. It's like everyone knows the details but no one will talk about them, like there's a dark cloud hanging over him. Some say it was an accident, others think it's something worse, but either way, Leo's the one you don't want to get too close to. Maya, however, isn't the type to shy away from rumors. Especially not when they start eating at her curiosity. There's something about Leo that pulls her in, like a puzzle she can't solve. She's been struggling with a hole in her life, the loss of someone she cared about, someone who's been gone for far too long. Desperate for answers and willing to do anything, Maya ends up making a deal. It's one of those things you hear about in hushed tones, something that sounds almost too unreal to be true, but she doesn't care. All she wants is for them to come back, and the cost? Well, she figures she'll deal with that later. But just as she's about to seal the deal, Leo shows up, like some kind of reluctant hero. He tries to save her, to break the bargain before it's too late, but his intervention backfires. The deal takes its toll on her in a way she never expected, half of her soul gets torn away, scattered across town. To make things worse, part of the demon that tricked her takes root inside her, filling the void and granting her powers. But it's not all gifts. With those powers comes the threat of losing who she is, of being consumed by the very thing she tried to control. Maya is left with a terrifying choice: use the powers to reclaim her soul or risk losing herself completely.

This is a world where power and dominance stand above anything and everything else. This is a world where you don't want to run around in the dark. This is a world where love is nothing other than a meaningless word used to describe the indescribable feeling of having a Mate. This is a world where wolves are dominant and only the most powerful survive. This is the world Silas, a loner and the first full blooded wolf in history, was born into. The world where she must prove her dominance in order to survive. * * * Unbearable pain erupted through my body, almost instantly. Dizziness made the room swirl unnaturally and darkness threatened to take over. "Up," the Alpha repeated. I tried, but, once again, I was rendered immobile. Another large syringe full of the green and silver mixture was injected into my body. This process repeated, time and time again. My body could not handle it. The room spun in quick, repeating circles as darkness surged, covering everything I saw and felt with a thick, black blanket. I couldn't remember anything. Not who I was. Not where I was. Not who was with me. Not what I was supposed to be doing. But, as I lay there, unconscious, beginning to go insane with pain, I could still hear, still remember, him. I could remember the voice of someone I had met, not that long ago, that already meant the world to me. I could remember the feeling of our wolves connecting, all but the new fifth member of my body, who had led me to this dark, dangerous place. I could remember feeling, for the first time in years, what it felt like to be happy. I could remember his name. Jace. * * * I do not take credit for the picture used in the cover of this story. <ON HOLD>

Edie thinks she is human. She has never been told otherwise. Not by the elderly aunt who raised her, and not by anyone else. But it isn't until her aunt passes away from illness that Edie learns that there is far more to the bedtime stories she was told as a child... Guided only by the notes her aunt left behind and her questionable instincts, Edie finds herself thrust into the middle of supernatural conflict that leaves her questioning everything she has ever known. Soon Edie learns that her mother was a werewolf, and her father a human, neither able to give her the guidance and answers she desperately needs after they were murdered for their unconscionable union between species. Fiercely determined and independent, her journey lands her into the arms of her mate, a dark and moody Phelan Reyes. Unbeknownst to Edie, he has always been watching her from afar, protecting her from those who seek to exploit her hybridity. When she finds her way to him, Phelan cannot mark Edie to protect her. The process is toxic for humans, so there is no mind-link. No capacity for her to shift. And no way to protect her. Her hybridity is unheard of- and Phelan has to fight his own internal battles to make her his due to the risks involved. Add in a human ex-boyfriend who is determined to find her, and the werewolf council The Guild who will stop at nothing to ensure her mutation is ended once and for all, Edie finds herself on an adventure that is far more than she ever bargained for... She felt like Cinderella, unconsciously listening to an imaginary clock tick with each passing second. Time was of the essence, but she was completely out. She had enough. Justine raised from her seat and faced him, glaring daggers into his fearful irises as she raised her powerful voice. "I didn't think you were that foolish, Dax. You should be out, trying to live again, trying to find why you were given a second chance! Most people don't even get a single one to begin with!" He got up as well, countering her radiance with his. She continued to speak, her breath coming out as cold vapor in the frigid night. "You're wasting it!" she screamed. "You're selfish! Don't you care how it'll affect others? Those who love you?" "Everyone already thinks I'm dead!" Dax butted in, but she didn't let him stop her with a puny excuse. "What about me, huh? Don't you care about how I feel? You're my best friend! And the first time I lost you was hard enough. This time, it's different. There's new feelings that I've recently sorted out," her voice grew increasingly indecisive and conflicted as she spoke on, her eyes wavering. Then she looked at him with such devotion; her robust glare penetrated his soul. "You should be roaming the world, searching for the one thing that could save you! Death is permanent. You should be out finding that purpose, Dax, not here like an idiot staring at some silly girl who thinks a ghost may love her back!" Tears drenched her face, her eyes puffy and red, but mighty and high. He stepped closer, his flickering form barely touching her very real, live one. They bore into each other's eyes, feeding off the other's presence. Still, he refused to open his mouth and respond. "You should be finding that one thing that makes you happy," she whispered, now unable to peer up into his glowing black eyes. He bent down, his mouth just a centimeter away from her ear as he breathed, "What if I've already found it?"

The girl with no wolf. An extra mouth to feed. A liability. A defenseless miscreation. Seraphina had heard it all. She had felt it all too. The bone aching bruises, the defenseless claw scratches just shy of her neck on the edges of her collarbone, she had seen it all too. It had been so long since it had started that she couldn't recall a time when the degradation was compliments and not insults. Now, it was all she ever expected. If she had known five years ago that not having a wolf would cause this much hate she would have begged her parents to move to another pack. It felt like an eternity since it all happened. Or rather what didn't happen. She still could not shift. She was defective. A mistake in the gene pool. But she didn't know she would end up like this. She couldn't have, just like she couldn't have expected to come face to face with the Alpha Slayer. A man casted in shadow. Not many had ever seen his face, but that didn't make him any less real. Alphas after all were dethroned from the likes of him. Word spreads quickly. So, when Seraphina ends up in his line of sight she has a lot more to figure out than just not having a wolf, because it very well might cost her, her life. Updated: Weekly ⚠️Mature Content⚠️ Book is completed and currently being revised and rewritten. This is book one of the For the Taking Trilogy.
