I was too shocked to speak. This was supposed to be my line. I was supposed to reject him first! Feeling my ire rise I walked towards him until we were toe to toe. I wanted to slap him but I controlled myself. If he thought that I will cry and grovel in front of him, he had another thing coming.
Speaking in a composed voice I said "How presumptuous of you to think that your words will affect me in any way. For your information, I was about to reject you first but you spoke too soon. Last night I admit I felt some things. But it's all gone now. You mean nothing to me". He don't deserve me.
So we happily acceted the rejections. Alas, fate was laughing at us and we were the fools about to be played by its hands.

I closed my eyes ready for my death when I heard a very loud and dangerous growl, I swear I felt the ground under me shook by it.
