My dad use to work on the NWR as a driver, I grew up right next to the main sheds so I've known the engines my whole life. when I was 19 I moved to Marron and lived there with my wife and young children . when my father died I was left all his stuff like his car, house and stuff ... while organizeing his junk I found these old files under the floorboard s in his wardrobe and decided to read them. Dear readers, There were many engines on The Fat Controller's railway who weren't written about by Wilbert Audrey. There are several different reasons as to why, from not wanting to be written about to Wilbert having too much on his plate already. (I personally blame the publishers for that last one.) However, one of these engines has finally spoken up about an event not many people look at... the time the NWR was without a shunter, before Percy arrived, and after Thomas left for the Farquhar Branch.
