"Mine..." he repeated softly, drawing his head back to stare at her. Dazed by his beauty, she could only stare back. 

Feiyan flinched as he brought his face even closer. 

The ruby red eyes above her were framed with heavy white lashes, and they bore into her, drinking in her features. Her stomach flipped as his gaze filled with a deep longing, but she could also see an inexplicable sadness.

Without realizing what she was doing, she reached towards him, giving in to the sudden desire to comfort him.

"Mine..." he whispered in a voice silky with delight and satisfaction. "Mine!"

Crushing her into his embrace, the demon proceeded to devour every inch of her...

Feiyan is born the twin sister of the Crown Prince of Moutan, but she is rejected when the royal astrologer determines that her fate is tied to a greater demon. Instead of killing her, the King has her raised by his trusted advisor. 

Feiyan gradually learns to live in the Crown Prince's shadow, but her narrow existence begins to change when she meets Pul, the page of a visiting prince from the neighbouring kingdom of Shobu, who has his own secrets. Although they have a rough start, the two become friends.

However, when the Shoban prince is assassinated, Shobu's armies unleash demons onto the land, starting a war that Moutan cannot hope to win. As punishment for the death of their prince, Shobu demands an annual human tribute to feed an even greater evil that they have been concealing in their capital.

Eight years after Moutan's defeat, the Crown Prince is selected as part of the human tribute, but Feiyan takes his place. No longer a child, Feiyan refuses to back away from the destiny that awaits her in Shobu's great underground maze, the Migong.

Inspired by Theseus and the Minotaur, this is Book 1 of the Migong series.
