Althea Robinson and Iris Williams have been inseparable since their first day of school. Now that they have both moved into their districts, nobody could be sadder than Althea when she finds out her friend had betrayed her. Iris has been a "Career" for longer than they were friends, and now Althea's as vulnerable as a caterpillar in a sea of sparrows when she's called to join the Games. And now it's up to her to survive, only two people come out alive, and there are more careers than Althea thought.
