"Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature's laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet. Funny, it seems to by keeping it's dreams; it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared." -Tupac Shakur MacKenzie is a broken girl with a heavy heart. Heavy with guilt from her past. She crosses paths with a few individuals carrying their own burdens. All of them have to learn to face their past instead of running from it. The only way they can all move forward is by unlocking the doors holding them back. Moving to a new town has its perks and challenges. But how will MacKenzie cope after losing two of the most important people of her life? How will she learn to trust and let people into her life? How will she grow to overcome her guilt? "It's my fault they're gone. I'm so sorry mom." she looks at me with pain evident in her teary eyes. She tries to reason, "No, don't say that. You didn't kill them." I fall to the ground and the next thing I know, I'm on a hospital bed. Just like the rose that grew from the concrete, read on and see how MacKenzie and a few others survive as they keep growing through cracks. You grow through what you go through, right?
