Excerpt from Even If It Hurts (Book 2):
"Violet," his voice shakes when he says my name and he takes a breath to steady himself, "Violet, I have loved you every second of every day since the moment I first laid eyes on you. When I look back at my life, I know I've made mistakes and done things I regret, but you are the one thing I know I got right."
I stay on my knees in front of him and place my hands at the curve of his neck. Tears are falling freely down my face at this point, and I don't wipe them away.
"I have wasted enough time with you." He says gruffly through the emotion rising up in his throat. "I refuse to waste any more. You are mine, Violet Parker. You drive me mad and will probably make me grey before I'm thirty, but you're mine, just as much as I'm yours."
I exhale a laugh as more tears roll down my face. He cradles my cheek in his hand and I lean into his touch.
"We belong to each other, baby. From the second we met we were destined to fall apart and fall back together. You are everything I'll ever need for the rest of my life. You make me a better man, Violet. I look at you and I see us fifty years from now, old and grey, surrounded by our children and a bunch of grand-babies. I want to do that with you more than I've ever wanted anything in my life."
"Oh my god." I sob as he takes my left hand in his and brings it up to his mouth, kissing the knuckle on my ring finger gently.
"Violet Parker, will you marry me?"
