Over the centuries, the people of Hopeful built their own nations and societies, complete with their own complex geo-politics. All trans-stellar ships have been dismantled and their resources put to use in building the new mankind. The only reminders of these life saving behemoths are their descendants, the shuttles that are now used as the primary way of transportation on Hopeful. With new societies came new conflicts and wars. As these conflicts grew, so did it's needs for bodies in uniform. Few bodies however, were willing to wear one, accustomed to their new relatively comfortable lives in the new world. Where there is demand, must eventually come supply. And it did, in the form of companies and corporations outfitting their very own private armies. L is a middle aged mercenary, also known as a contractor, living on Hopeful. After a job goes wrong, she finds herself in the middle of a war she did not sign a contract to fight in. A series of events leads her to terrifying discoveries and conclusions which suggest that Hopeful may not be the only remaining refuge of humanity after all.

Star Crew

In the far reaches of a distant future, humanity has long broken free from the confines of Earth. With the stars now within reach, colonies spread across planets, moons, and entire systems. Science and medicine have advanced beyond ancient limitations, and through the revolutionary CRISPER Program, human lifespans stretch far longer than ever before though mortality remains an inevitable truth. But with progress comes conflict. Newly discovered resources hidden throughout the galaxy ignite political tension and territorial greed. Old rivalries flare anew as factions, governments, and corporations clash for control of the wealth scattered among the stars. While countless citizens choose neutrality and cling to peaceful lives within the growing sprawl of civilization, not everyone avoids the chaos. For mercenaries, warlords, pirates, and scavengers, the universe is a battleground and a marketplace. Danger lurks behind every contract, every derelict ship, every shadowed asteroid belt. Yet for those willing to risk everything, the rewards are higher than ever. In this age of expansion and unrest, fortune favors the bold... and the desperate. Some fight for survival. Some fight for power. But many fight simply because in this new era, danger is money.
