Dorin's Truth

Dorin learnt many things in his career as a sellsword. There were
the practicalities of the trade, such as swinging a blade and
negotiating pay; cultural and historical tidbits that, like it or not,
you are going to pick up about the people you're trying to kill; a
surprising amount of law, without which being hanged by a magistrate
was as likely as finding death on the battlefield.

All of these could be more or less expected, and common to all
mercenaries who reached Dorin's age. But there were also deeper, more
fundamental Truths.
