Controlling Echoes [Hermitcraft AU | Book 2]
It's been two years since the Entity invaded Hermitcraft. The Hermits have moved on. Sure, the scars are still there, (especially Zedaph's) but they've faded! Season ten is here, and so are two new Hermits! They don't know of the horrors the Entity brought to Hermitcraft, only a bit of what their friends have told them. Joel is one of those new Hermits. He's had a great time! Started building a cyberpunk and Japanese themed base, right near all of his close friends. But, when the Being comes back even smarter, and stronger, old wounds reopen, and panic builds. And Joel's biggest secret might just be what can save them all. I hope you enjoy! And don't forget to follow @Roxy-Rox0!! (Reading the first book isn't necessary, but I do recommend it!) Perhaps things would have turned out differently. Maybe I could have avoided what was to come. Maybe it's a game life wanted me to play, and there's no forfeiting or escaping. I simply have to follow the rules and hopefully make it to the final round, even if that means that I'll be buried six feet underground like him. __________________________________ "Things happen when you least expect them, whether they're good or bad, and in my case, it was everything and more."- Linda Smith Linda Smith, in a million years, never expected her life to take a crazy turn. Fix Me, I'm Broken
Walking into an empty house is normal to me. I guess I got tired of saying 'I'm home' when nobody is home to reply. It wasn't always like this. I remember when our family was close. Now we don't see each other any more. We don't talk to each other. We don't eat with each other. We don't ACKNOWLEDGE each other. This all happened after my 'Mother' killed herself. My father blames me. This is my story about how I learned to not count on anyone else but myself. I'm broken. I'm used. No one can fix me. But when the New Boy in town tries to fix me, everything will change. Good change or Bad change, I don't know. Only time will tell. Damnation Of Devotion ✔
"I would've prayed for Them to go easy on you too." He moves and his eyes are on me, eyes where they are brimming with tears, but his soft smile confuses me. Gently caressing my temple, he gazes at me as if I'm the most delicate treasure. His lips kiss my fingers. "They did. A few years late but They did. Their mercy on me is you." ______________ While World War II is absorbed in its own devastation, a runaway slave stumbles upon a meadow. He is saved by a curious, lonely spirit and builds an affinity with her; but will he be her only salvation or eternal damnation? Either way, she can't let him go. And neither can he... as they're more similar than they thought. With unexpected gifts and losses coming their way, the starry-eyed lovers go on a journey for a sense of peace through a strange reality, a stark contrast to her own. The human world. Not an easy feat. Especially where ghosts and dreadful creatures are concerned. ☾✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧☽ Cover art by DuskBeetle This story isn't drama-filled and hasty despite the dramatics and the hassles. ▪︎ Ludus/Eros/Pragma & Philia ▪︎ Grumpy x Sunshine ▪︎ Interracial Couple ▪︎ 93k-98k words ▪︎ WARNING: Death, war, and miscarriage themes, harsh language, mild violence, implied trafficking Copyright © 2021 by L.I.
