Chifuyu could barely look at the stars before breaking down. Some part of him knew she was one of them now, shining in the night sky. She'd left the prison of her flesh to embody something that truly captured how beautiful she'd always been. 

"Someday...someday I promise, I'll join you. Wait for me..." he whispered, eyes puffy and red rimmed. "I'm with you.."

Takemichi didn't know what to do, watching the heartbroken boy cry. So he let his own tears overflow and fall. Again and again, he just couldn't save her; save 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦. "At least her passing wasn't in vain-" he started, only to be cut off. 

"That's not true! Everyone's gonna think she died such an honourable death." Wiping his tears away as he spoke, it only made Chifuyu sob harder. "S..she sacrificed herself for someone else and there's no doubt she wanted to save them, r..right? But she didn't want to live through it. It was an excuse.
