Kimiko is a priestess in a small village bordered by mountains on all but one side--where lies a Forbidden Forest said to be the dwelling place of a large dragon. Kimiko lives a small, poor life with her grandfather, but her boring, peaceful life is turned around when she comes across something out of the ordinary one day while hunting in the mountains.
A half-demon.
Helping nurse the Half-demon back into health, Kimiko befriends the halfbreed who calls himself "Akiyo." But her boring life gets turned around completely by their encounter, as Kimiko is whisked away on an adventure she thought she wanted until now. The two share a similar goal, and though they don't think they like each other, they work together beautifully when battle is thrown at them and both would do anything for each-other. But as their journey continues to grow larger, so does their group. Kimiko and Akiyo meet several other people who join them on their journey, and together, they're unstoppable by all forces... or so they think.
Does Kimiko and the others have what it takes to reach their goal and break their bonds tying them down to evil? Can they truly defeat the evil that has haunted them all for years? Can Kimiko break the curse that's ruined her life? Or will not even a thousand arrows be able to defeat the darkness?
