The novel is about an 8-year-old girl who witnessed the death of her family. They were murdered by anonymous men and left no trace. Her father, who was a servant of the Philippine Military, received no recognition for his death because he was thought to be the leader of an organization that was against the government.

Yazoo believes that her father is not a traitor and that none of her family deserves to die. As she was sent to America by her uncle, she also equipped herself to prove her father's innocence and avenge her family's death.

After 20 years, Yazoo became a police detective. While hunting for the suspects in her family's murder, she also solved cases and became a scary detective. Some cases she was working on led her to solve the mystery. The pieces of the puzzle were found one-by-one.

The whole picture shocked Yazoo as she found out the person behind her family's death. The person who was there when she was solving the mystery is also the missing piece to complete the puzzle.
