Damian and his best friend, Lewis, have had many adventures together as Pokémon trainers. They could even be mistaken for brothers. Same sense of humor, same interests, similar hobbies... ya know. Nothing has ever separated these two. Nothing.

Team Ascension, an organization run by a passionate DNA researcher, Dr. Arkane, has a simple objective. To "ascend beyond humanity". As a child, Elizabeth Arkane had ambitions of flying above the clouds alongside her Swablu. Dreams of big beautiful wings that she could take flight with whenever she wanted. Sounds too good to be true, right?

Well, she's not far from her goal. Using children as her test subjects, she has learned a way to successfully swap the souls and consciousness of humans and Pokémon. This is only step one of her master plan. She hopes to take specific traits from Pokemon, giving humans an insanely effective healing factor, giving them superhuman strength to do jobs far beyond the limits of the human body, infinite stamina to be able to work for days on end, the list goes on.
