And I panicked. I quickly slid from up under the sheets and slipped on
my pants. Making my way towards the door, I took one last look at him.
"I'm sorry" I whispered softly to him. I quietly shut the door behind
myself. It was outside that I had realized I had no way home. Sticking
my hand in my pocket, I dialed the one person I wouldn't have to explain
myself to. The only person that didn't need words, just actions.
"Hey Cameron, I could use some benefits right now."

Vanessa is the new girl in town, not that that isn't something she isn't already used to. Starting her senior year, she was just counting down the days until she was 18 so she could finally live on her own and not have to bounce from foster house to foster house. But there is something different about this town and it starts with the boy whom she can't seem to figure out. But will her past catch up to her and cause her to seep back into bad habits?

He once told me no one knows the real him.I didn't think he meant it, and not in a good way. He is a straight A student, and everyone knows it, not to mention he is on the swim team. All that though isn't the real him, the real him hides deep within himself. ---------- "Can you please tell me what that was?" I nearly shout at him. All I get is silence. He keeps his back to me. "Please, I need some explanation." I beg. I stay still as he stops dead in his tracks. His body is tense and it's scarring me. He turns around slowly to face me with his hands at his sides. His eyes meet mine, but there is no spark of any emotion in them. They are cold and dark making me look away not being able to hold his deadly stare. I feel uneasy under his gaze, and i feel his eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. "No, I won't explain because it's not important." He says in a low, almost, growl. I flinch and look back into his eyes. I feel hurt by his words and I don't know why, but I know he sees it in my eyes. His faces flashes with regret but it's quickly covered up with his faces going back to it's hard cold look. I feel my heart stop and my face go pale. His look terrified me making me hold my breath. "Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me. "You haven't hurt me." "Yet." He mutters, but I roll my eyes.

"Guys, I got another note," I say as I sit down at lunch. Vanessa and Xander were here but Hazel was missing. "Where's Hazel?" I question, eyeing her empty seat. "Out with Adam today, it's Friday," Xander says whilst I munch on my sandwich. "Did you say you got another note?" He asks and I hold my finger up and try to swallow my food as quickly I can so I can speak again. "Yeah, this one says, 'You look so beautiful in blue, I wish I could say this in person,' I really want to know who's playing this prank," I say and my eyes fall to the only prankster in Waterstone Academy, Sebastein. "I don't think it is Sebastien, he loves attention and this doesn't scream attention," Vanessa says as my eyes land on him. But my eyes move from Sebastien quickly to the hottest man in Waterstone, Vincent. He has been bugging me for a week, trying to talk to me and he even asked me to come to Logan's party on the weekend. My eyes must have been drilling holes into his face because he turns in my directions. I quickly turn back to Xander and Vanessa who were talking about their Art projects. "Okay, so if not Sebastien then who?" I voice my thoughts out loud. "Maybe you have a secret admirer," Xander says in all seriousness and I burst out laughing. My laugh attracts some attention because 1) it was loud, 2) I snorted. "Yeah right," I say once I sober up. *** A secret admirer. Everyone wishes they had one but not Amara. "Grayson, what are you doing?" I asked, slowly, walking into his house. He was sitting on a bar stool in the kitchen, facing the view of the city lights. Grayson was surrounded by open bottles of beers and alcohol. When he turned around, I did what most people wouldn't do, I looked directly into his eyes. His eyes were like a book, telling a story to ones who dared to look at them. Hurt, confusion, and sadness written all over his drooping, bloodshot eyes. He didn't answer me, making me step closer to him, "You okay?" I asked. "Yeah," he whispered with the rare smile I've seen only a few times through the time I've known him. Though this one is different. It was depressing. "No, you're not." He sighed. He didn't say anything back, but we both knew what he was going to say. He knew what he was feeling right now, even though he wasn't sober. He knew. "I wanna fix you." I whispered, shocking myself. His smile vanished, almost immediately. He looked away from me, his eyes back to the city lights, "Me too."He whispered. *•*•*•* Stereotypes shape today's society, especially with Grayson Watts. He's the schools bad boy, making girls go all over him, but I, Bailey Winters, or so I thought. I'm the girl that's usually too busy reading and doing homework than to go out and stalk guys. Somehow, Grayson and I cross paths and something about me made us become close enough to be called, 'friends.' With our new found friendship, I learned that bad boys, too, could be broken.
