A resident nurse from a well-known hospital in Manila, Karmina Albellanosa received a call from Pampanga that her mother died due to tuberculosis. Because of the news, she hurriedly packed her things and went to her hometown, for many reasons more than two.

With all of what's left with her, Karmina decided to leave urban permanently. As she paved her way to the mountains, to help those people in need, her plan changed and she encountered Mio Sanesteban, the mysterious guy who can't speak and understand their language. As the Japanese started to invade the country. She has no choice but to follow the stream and Mio was forced to dive into the war.

For three dreadful years under the Japanese occupation, Karmina Albellanosa barely survived.

Under three horrendous years of the puppet government in the Philippines, Mio Sanesteban thrived.

However, after those three long years of fighting, and surviving they suddenly vanished.
