our only weakness

I ran, no I sprinted out of there. I had to find him before he was gone for good. I couldn’t let him walk out, no, not after the last 4 years of hell we put each other through. We were each others last chance at any sort of happiness or love, we were just to blind to see that. Four years of hell for what? He was not leaving me, not this time. We have college to go to, and our futures ahead of us, but I can’t picture my world without him. He is my everything.   It was pouring out, the rain was coming down so hard. My vision was blurred and I could barely see me hand out in front of me. I knew he wouldn’t drive off, not just yet. He was waiting, waiting to see if I would come a fight for him. He knew I would.   Finally, when I think all hope is lost I see those dampened, now dark curls. His emerald green eyes begin to lighten up once he sees me running after him, but there color soon fades when he realizes what I am running for. Our last chance. Those words make me want to vomit, after everything that we have been through this couldn’t be our last chance… but it was. If we couldn’t make it through this, we couldn’t have each other. “Harry, this isn’t over… is it?” I whispered just loud enough for him to hear.He combed his hands through his hair, like he always did when he was frustrated or upset in any way. His mouth opened and closed four times before he managed to spill out, “Jane…”
