The Cloaked Heart

You will not be listened to until your thoughts serve some purpose. My participation in that circle was also included. But when no one even seems to care about you, you feel dejected. The phrase "it's okay, you're enough for yourself" is hard to swallow. When, in fact, you're not. Without people, you would go blind. It is a matter of belief for me that every second in our life has a purpose. Our lives are either devoted to ourselves or to the people we love. Despite everything, people are always needed in our lives.

So there I was, in need of him. A man who was not mine. Not my man. Not my man. It wasn't like other needs where one day you want someone and the next you forget them. That need turned toxic for me. That never let me think clearly.
