Book 1: The Son of Nomitor, Birth of the Son

The story follows the early life of a boy named Harles Semels of Höstatium, born to a lower-ranked noble family in the northern Realm of Saxon.

Eróqosia, home and centre of the Republic of Hiróna, once the realm of Heroes, Gods and of Old Empires, now a shadow of its former self, where the Mortal Stewards have become a household divided of squabbling siblings ever since.

For turmoil and chaos consume the Continent of Eróqosia, as the storm clouds of fate gather overhead, flashing with thunder of an uncertain future for all who dwell therein.

It is the Fifth Age, Year Four-Hundred and Ninety-Five.

Mistrust and rivalries have fractured the realms of the rich and powerful Republic of Hiróna. Once the envy of the world, that the influence of the Republic's Senate is felt over a vast region of Eróqosia, Northern Hafizia and the near Orient of Mésioantolí.

Yet its legions are now stretched to their limit and near breaking point.

The Republic of Hiróna has not had lasting peace within its dominion, torn apart by constant civil wars and infighting, which has driven the Senate to a perpetual state of fear of an emerging dictator bent on taking absolute power. That the democracy they once championed now dies a slow death by a-thousand cuts, brought about by a bloated bureaucracy, staffed by the cynical and short-sighted.

The peace the Senate tries to maintain is both fragile and meaningless.

And the lands it holds onto now is divided by the Ruling Houses of Power who are vying for influence over the Senate. The realms they lord over struggle with their internal strife, stricken with invasion, war, religious persecution, plebeian uprisings and the constant threat of slave rebellions.

These are the final years of the Republic of Hiróna, an era of darkness, destitution, and of war.
