"did you think you could beat me, tartaglia?" he mused, blue eye twinkling with something that childe could not identify. he looked gorgeous, even from this angle; choking beneath their harsh grip, their knee pressed to his stomach. even had that hand not been pressing against his airway, the sight of midnight hair spilling over his shoulder and the sparkling crown that managed to stay on its owner's head even throughout battle would still have left him breathless.
