Truth reveals eventually.

Tania Pecks adopted Carper and Gary when they were about eleven. Months after Carper turned Twenty Four, he vanished into the thin air. Two months after that Tania committed suicide leaving a Gary a letter, telling him that she was responsible for the disappearance of Carper. Gary follows the clues and finds Carper revealing a bunch of heart breaking lies. But even after finding Carper he is not ready to accept him, as he came to know about the truth.
