Ava is your typical shy girl. She does everything that she is told and hardly ever breaks the rules. During her junior year in high school a student transfered from England and she fell in love with him from a distance. He hardly ever noticed her; she left wishing that he had. Nearly two years later Ava and her long time best friend, Landon, return for holiday and she maintains the hope that they will cross paths. When they don't she is dismayed and returns to college with Landon. "I'm homesick for arms that don't want to hold me."

"Why are you asking me these questions?" I say, I can feel a panic attack coming on. I close my eyes taking a deep breath in and a deep breath out. I don't care how stupid I look. I don't want to have a panic attack in front of him, I've never had a panic attack in front of anyone before. "Well I can tell how anxious you are," he states, pointing to my shaking hands.
