Book 01/06 (Current Version: Prototype - Version 1.5) This story/fanfiction is a 'what if scenario' within the Sci-Fi videogame series known as Halo and is based on an original character named 'Lieutenant Serenity McKnight' that partners with the legendary Master Chief himself, after the UNSC Pillar of Autumn was intercepted and crash landed on a mysterious structure called a Halo Ring known as Installation 04. And does their best to survive against the Covenant with the surviving crew of the ship on the unknown world. During such survival of the crew and soldiers of the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, a big mystery slowly unveils on the ring. As if they're not alone and Captain Jacob Keyes, Master Chief, Cortana, and the Lieutenant to lead the way and possibly escape with their fellow men and women in arms The story is a 'reimagining' of Halo and is non-canon and is to be not taken seriously as this was an idea created back when I first played the games. Combat Evolved is the first book of my main series known as 'Halo Battle Buddies' and will lead up to the first game and beyond. DISCLAIMOR: I do not own Halo and the intellectual property belongs to Bungie, Microsoft and 343 Industries. This is for fun, and not making any form of profit of this story. Will our heroes within the UNSC turn the tides of the conflict in the fates of their species? What will this alliance with the Forerunner entail to go on the offensive? When she's offered an out from her prison sentence, she embarks on a dangerous interstellar expedition along with 18 of Earth's most intelligent criminals. Their task is to set up a base on a supposedly habitable planet and prepare it for colonization. Although the planet has liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, it is believed to host only microbial life. However, upon arriving, Shawn and the rest of the colonists learn that assumption was grossly incorrect. In a brutal attack from rampaging wildlife, everyone but Shawn and four other colonists are killed. The five survivors retreat to the cavernous network beneath the ground seeking safety, but they soon come to a terrible discovery. These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. [][][] This was originally my entry for the 2021 Open Novella Contest, and it received an honorable mention! It has now been expanded into a full length novel.
