Many teenagers deal with peer problems and social anxiety; well, there you meet Sage Parker. Not your very typical, but typical 17 year-old. She didn't have a problem with that; she loves being alone, enjoying binge-ing TV shows, finishing an entire can of Ben&Jerry's by herself and, sometimes, calling her only best friend to chat.
One day, a new boy transfers into her school. He's distant, cold and sometimes even funny. There's Max Bordel, reuniting with his long lost friend group, finding a job at a local diner and making harmless pranks.
One Biology assignement and one meal of nachos and cheese fries can easily bring those two together.

An Unexpected Moment

No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either.
