This world is divided by two races, the Commoners and the Connates. Many years ago the Connates were considered the lesser, being hunted by kings and queens alike. The Connates power grew, until one day they fought back, wiping out the continent's rulers of Nendassi, Wrana, Wemor, Sawice, Hatun, Egion. Connates were once known as the offspring of the gods, that their control of the elements gave them the right to take what they please. Now, millennia after the Connates take over, the Commoners are enslaved. Communes were established, and the Commoners were forced to live here, doing the dirty jobs the Connates refused to do themselves.

Kepler lived his entire life in the Communes, under the control of the Connate race. A recent pandemic, known as the bleeding plague has wiped out over half of his Commune, where he lost his mother and others of his family. His entire life Kepler has had his eyes set on a quiet life, one day settling down with his childhood crush Livia, and to one day have children of his own. He has to put his old hopes behind him and open up to the future. His whole life was flipped upside down once he awoke.
