Princess Azula, the ambitious and ruthless younger sister of Fire Lord Zuko, hears from a mysterious peasant woman that she will one day be Fire Lord. When her brother dies a sudden and untimely death, Azula sees an opportunity to take the throne from his rightful heir, her niece, Crown Princess Izumi. 

Left widowed and vulnerable after the death of her beloved husband, Fire Lady Katara, looks to protect their children from an aunt who wants to get rid of them. When her two sons are captured and imprisoned, she sends her daughter, Princess Izumi, the rightful heir to the throne, into hiding.

Calm and patient Xia became Zuko's new sparring partner, and Iroh's favorite Pai Sho challenger. "How can you be drinking tea at a time like this?!" Zuko demanded. I looked at him as if surprised by his stupidity, "because I do not particularly like cold tea." A laugh followed my statement and we both turned to Iroh, "you see, Prince Zuko. Xia knows that there are times to march forward, but there are also times to take a step back." "What does that even mean?" Zuko asked furiously. "It means that I take time to think," I replied gently. "Now, why don't we go and continue your quest for the Avatar?" *I update by book. So the first thirteen chapters are book one. Katara hates it there, the heat, the red, the gold, especially the gold, it reminded her of the princes eyes, a man she hates she's forced to marry. But what if he is just as miserable as she is? He just wanted to be home. He finally got it but is continued to be terrorized in his own palace.
