At the Wisteria Academy for Gods and Goddesses, where everyone has powers and magic and charm, its hard for Starling, the new student with the weird name and upbringing -who didn't even know she had powers-to fit in or excel at this new school where everyone is brilliant. She grew up in the remote woods of Astalia, and she has never even gone to school before. She is convinced that she will fail, but when she develops alarming new abilities and rises to the top of the Leaderboard, she's pretty hard to miss. She is assured that she will become one of the best Heroes by countless teachers and staff, but when the school gets a surprise visit from the kingdom's Queen Everia and dark secrets are upturned in the following days, Starling knows something is off, and as her evidence builds, so does the danger of her journey and one fact becomes clear-nobody is getting out of this school untouched.
