Filinia Stad is just an ordinary girl, aside from the fact that she has unnaturally white hair.  She lives with her mother and her mother's girlfriend in the heart of the Graduate Hospital area of Philadelphia. Her only friend is a gorgeous boy named Tuluc with the most eccentric parents, who invent weapons to fight creatures that don't exist outside of fiction. Or so she thinks. However, when she turns 16, the young painter is suddenly thrown into a world she thought only existed in the movies she loves, and is attacked by a demon. 

Now Filinia must come to terms with the undiscovered and very supernatural part of her identity and the hidden identities of the ones she loves. She also learns that another world named Cyré exists and the supernatural beings living in this world call it Maya. And if that wasn't overwhelming enough, a vampire is out to get her because she is the key to the portal that goes between both worlds. The vampire, Romington Masters, plans to complete his leader's failed mission to enslave the inhabitants of Maya and rule over both worlds.
