Orphaned at a young age, Rosemary Wilson was left under the supervision of her legal Godmother. An old friend of her Mother's, one Mrs. Doris Macready.

After spending so much time with the woman, Rosemary fails to understand why her mother was friends with the uptight hag. Her memories of her mother are faint, but she remembers her as carefree. Loving. A long ways away from the coldness of Macready. But, seeing as she's got no other option, she makes due with what life has given her.

When the war causes four refugee children from the city to ask for asylum within the walls of Professor Kirke's private estate in the country, Rosemary thinks it may finally be a chance for her to perhaps gain a friend or two. Only one problem with that, though.

She's got no idea how to talk to others her age.

When the youngest child in her care gets herself caught in the middle of a mythological war between the monstrous dark forces of an evil ice-witch, and the loyal followers of a magical lion, teenage awkwardness seems to become the least of her troubles as everything she thought she knew about the world is shredded before her eyes.

"Oh. Milady Ashton, are you going to the ball for King Peter." The young centaur shyly asked Ashton. Ashton crouched down next to her, meeting her eye level with a friendly smile, "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean, little one." "You know... The ball thing... Mommy told me it was the King's opportunity to woo a lady of Narnia." She explains with her limited vocabulary and a small lisp. "A courting ball?" Ben asks the little one. "That's it!" She exclaims, "Are you going?" "I guess we will see, we haven't been back to the castle since the war," Ashton tells the five-year-old, sugarcoating her response to avoid disappointing the child. "Ohh." She nodded before leaning down to Ash to whisper in her ear, "My father told me stories from the war, of course not the stories with too much fighting, but he mentioned the greatness of the prophesied. You were always my favorite." She giggles. Ash didn't know what to say as the little centaur bounced away. She stood from the party, needing a minute outside. Edmund followed her after her, wanting to help his dear friend with the news. "Ash, I'm sure there's an explanation." "Yes, a simple one Ed. I left. Your brother owes me nothing. It is his choice. If he wants every spoiled, perfect, primitive, self-centered princess within a hundred miles lining up at his feet. That is his choice and does not concern me." Ashton admits, more negatively than she intended. "This is not going to end well." Ben comments, openly. ╣╠ Ashton returns to Cair Paravel and it is clear that in the two years she spent away, much has changed. ╣╠ Multiple POV ╣╠ Story intertwined with the golden ages after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.
