Before the chaos of Blackwater, before the gang was torn and ripped apart. Back when people were happy, money was being made. How the group of outlaws and orphans became known as the Van der linde gang.
However this time round a young Katherine Van der linde was amongst the gunslingers, wanting to prove herself in a man's world, avenge her mother's brutal death. Whilst being drawn closer to her father's favourite right hand man as he helps train her to survive in this cold and dangerous world.
Before rdr2,
all characters except Katherine are from rdr2 (rockstar) along with the overlying plot, however this storyline is completely mine (until 1899 obvs)

Under The Eyes of The Wolf (an rdr2 Arthur Morgan x oc story)
Following a botched robbery attempt in the town of Blackwater, the van der Linde gang now took shelter from the harsh, unforgiving elements in an old abandoned mining settlement known as Colter, deep in the snowy mountains. They are cold, hungry and unsure of what their futures hold. As Arthur Morgan is out desperately trying to track down game to bring back and feed to the starving gang he stumbles across an animal unlike any even he, in all of his travels, has ever seen before. As he crouches in the snow, his focus in its entirety directed at the animal before him, a stranger catches him by surprise. A WOMAN. As she cautiously holds him at gunpoint she explains the story behind the incredible animal before allowing him to go on his way. In the hours and days following the encounter he can't decide if this woman's presence in the same desolate, snow covered wilderness as he and the gang are in is mere coincidence or if there's more behind it than she's letting on. If it is pure coincidence that she's there than what is she doing alone on this frozen mountain? Whatever has brought her into his life he isn't sure but what he does know is he can't get her image out of his mind. Her intense red hair along with her piercing gaze that seems to stare right through him. As he attempts to find out more about her he convinces himself it's strictly out of caution. It's his responsibility to make sure that she's harmless and poses no threat to them but somehow deep down he already knows the only thing she poses a threat to is his heart.
