When she was rescued by Nick Fury during a base raid she didn't know whether to thank the gods or run and hide. She was looking for redemption, but as her former name suggests she has a dark heart that may never be redeemed. 

When she was recruited as an Avenger by Nick Fury she never realised her past would come back to haunt her. Will she forgive the one person she trusted with her life, or leave behind them to suffer like they did to her? Skylar is 26 now and finally free from H.Y.D.R.As control, she doesn't remember who she is anymore and nobody to go back to. She wasn't fond of the idea to join The Avengers but she had no other choice and nowhere to go, after 10 years she was able to make her own choices without consequences and to have the family she wished for. Can she trust and forgive or will she run and hide? Join Skylar Barnes on her journey to rediscovery.

This story starts off during Avengers Age of Ultron and continues till the end of Civil War. Y/N Rogers is the daughter of Steve and Peggy. She was born in 1943 and kidnapped in 1953 by HYDRA. She was kept in a cryostasis chamber until 2006. HYDRA experimented on her when she turned 14 in 2010 and she ended up with powers including mental manipulation, telekinesis and invisibility. She managed to escape in 2012 to find that her dad was alive despite thinking he died in 1945. She found her dad with the Avengers and has been living in Avenger's tower with them ever since. For the purpose of the story, Pietro and Wanda are both still teenagers and I have slightly changed their backstories. I have also changed the timeline of the mind stone slightly but it won't effect the future of it. I don't own any of the Marvel characters or the storylines from the movies. I only own the character of the reader and any of the scenes I have made up.
