This story is meant to explain events prior to Rift Apart to build up Rivet as a character. This is meant for imagination only as we don't have a fully done back story for Rivet's behavior, and I don't own Rivet as a character, or the world(s) she shares. Those are owned by Insomniac Games.(if you need a writer IG, totally game for that.)

Backround we know: unlike her dimensional counterpart: Ratchet, Rivet distrusts robots, and for that matter, most people due to the regime she lives in. That of Emperor Nefarious. Before Rift Apart, Rivet was already hailed a hero in her galaxy, despite never actually having won a fight against the Emperor. Her distrust is a huge and important part of her character we barely scratch in-game due to a good momentum of story with only sprinkles of who she is. Her canon outfit(non-armor) has a scarf to it, despite her living on acid swamp world like Sargasso.

Some of this story is told from Rivet's POV, from the POV's of others, as well as just story narration.

Things this story is meant to touch on:
Rivet's early life before the Resistance.
Rivet's reason for eventually joining the Resistance.
Why Rivet wears a scarf (not really important, but details are nice..)
Her distrust for robots.
The loss of her arm.
Why she simply refuses to give up.
Meeting Pierre

Keep in mind, minus her distrust of robots, and the loss of her arm, none of this is canon.
