When Evita starts asking questions Evelyn Sheer, the head of the city's Department of Energy, takes her captive and places her in a secret, underground research facility. Evelyn Sheer and the researchers are trying to create a genetic modification that enables humans to photosynthesize. Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Evita isn't ready to leave.

When a friend goes missing, it is up to three college students to take matters into their own hands by going against the rules of the town, and investigating an abandoned manor said to have been the last known location that many missing people were at before disappearing. What the group finds in that manor, binds them to a curse that traps them in a destroyed and corrupted version of their reality each night. By using their own wits and the help of professionals, they slowly uncover clues and truths to explain the mysteries of their nightly imprisonment. (64,120 words)
