This story is discontinued, as I have decided to keep this story as more of a 'personal, just share with friends, little oc backstory' idea. Every disaster that threatens a Clan means StarClan will come and save you. You'll receive a prophecy that will save everything you love. The peril is vanquished in a battle, and there is no need for sleeping with one eye open anymore. StarClan will forever watch over you from your nest and keep you safe. That is what has been passed down from generations. Not every tale has to end like that: StarClan saving everyone with the chosen cat, everyone loving the hero or heroine - but it always does. So facing a challenge such as missing cats shouldn't be a challenging task. Moons pass on, cats keep disappearing faster and faster; nobody is doing anything to prevent the case. Everyone is relying on StarClan to send the prophecy to their medicine cat, just hoping that one day, the fiasco will end. Yet that's not the way fear works its way into hearts. Warriors, once brave and strong, now cowering behind one another. Apprentices with their eagerness to learn, now afraid of the outside world and going missing. Queens, always caring for their kits, now fearful of losing them to the mystery. Elders, who are as wise as the deepest river, now unable to provide an answers. With leaf-bare creeping up, the Clans are preparing for the harsh weather. Preparing for another season should be like gathering moss for the elders, but not this time. She loves her clanmates dearly, but the clan deputy seems to watch their every move, just waiting for any cat to slip up. But it's the clan she was raised in. So, she should be loyal to them, right? Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment. Being a healer who suffers from severe anxiety isn't easy, but Twitchpaw knows as long as her mentor is there, she can get through it. The dream has a prophecy that states: Five cats, Frozen Storm, Birch Oaks, and Blowing feathers, chosen by Starclan must save the Forest, the Night, the Water, and the Sun from the destruction of Black Ashes and Golden wings. The four Clans-GrassClan, OakClan, PineClan and WillowClan-have lived in relative balance since the Clans began. They kept separate, save for their Gathering every full moon. While they had their disagreements, they kept a relatively harmonious existence. They had always been four Clans and it was believed that they always would be. For as long as they kept the warrior code alive, the Clans would continue to thrive. That's when the troubles began. One long, hot, dry greenleaf, a fire swept through GrassClan. Some cats were lost but those that survived resumed life in their now scorched territory. They knew that life was going to be harder than ever, but they could not abandon the only home they had ever known. The next couple of seasons, GrassClan struggled to feed themselves with little prey to be found. Yet, they refused to give up. Newleaf found GrassClan weak and starving but with hope on their horizon. Their oldest queen had moved into the nursery. Then, disaster struck a second time. Greencough swept through the Clan, snuffing out the new lives before they had even begun. The dreaded sickness left its mark, stealing the future of the Clan and all hope with it. Life had taken its toll on GrassClan. All that remained were their young leader, their deputy, their elderly medicine cat, one warrior and three elders. They had no apprentices, no she-cats and no kits. The once vibrant Clan was on the brink of dying out. The four Clans would soon be no more.
