Rune mages are rare and frankly everyone knows rune mages don't usually survive the training required to become a sanctioned mage. Rouge mages are hunted and killed. Logan Lofe is determined to finish the mage training as top mage, despite being a rune mage and limited to runes.

But his success comes at a high price even he can't predict. In a battle of him against an army, will his rune magic be enough?

You might enjoy this story if you like first person narratives, like magic and (possibly overpowered) underdogs who may or may not gradually become less stable as the story goes on.

If you're looking for a lot of descriptions of physical characteristics of characters or land or buildings... I'm not great at that and as a reader I prefer making my own descriptions. Feel free to leave ideas.

Kali has always been obedient, but when she takes her first step onto a protected “humans only” high school in suburban Pittsburgh, she knows she was the wrong choice for this mission. Ever since the murder of her parents when she was too young to remember, she’s been sheltered – and trained. She can swing a sword with expert precision, but studying popular human teen magazines hasn’t taught her how to masquerade as seventeen years old. Jason is the target of the mission. She and Yuuhi, who was also designated by his own people to be her partner, must find solid proof that Jason is, in fact, a supernatural phenomenon. Yuuhi sees little more than a socially inept emo kid dressed in conflicting shades of black, but Kali only touches Jason’s hand, and she feels the sting of something dark and deadly. Jason’s shadow is bigger than he is, and if the leaders of Yuuhi’s people find out, Jason won’t be human much longer. The goal of the mission is to protect him, but Kali will find that the only way she can do just that is to break every rule she’s been conditioned to follow. She’ll have to learn how to disobey. Beginning with Kali’s point of view and then shifting to the eyes of other characters, the Marionettes of Myth series introduces Pittsburgh as a superhuman metropolis, a world both wild and conquered by the monsters buried in its seams and darkest shadows. And those monsters will be watching her. ♦ Completed! ♦ [Copyright © 2013 Sarah Godfrey & Victoria DeRubeis] (All current books in the series are available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle format. In a world of gods, pirates, and blessings, Phoenix Finch lives in a small coastal town secluded from the rest of the world. In a town that values rules, traditions, and law above all else, Phoenix has never known of anything else. When he is both rescued and kidnapped by the most fearsome pirate of them all, Nico Maheras, The West Wind, he is brought into a world so unlike his own. Scared and alone, he lashes out, and the captain lashes right back. As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. As such, this is somewhat unedited, and needs improvement. Constructive criticism is both wanted and appreciated. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Cover is mine, made with AutoDesk Sketchbook and BeFunky photo editor. - - - - Content warnings: Kidnapping, Violence, Cursing, Fighting, Torture, Death, mentions of past s*xual assault, and slavery. Please let me know if there's any other warnings that you think should be added! (I swear that makes it sound so much worse than it actually is. This is a lighthearted story about friendship, self discovery, family, and freedom.)

When life gives you a second chance in a medieval fantasy world, make sure you revolutionize it. Getting hit by a truck wasn't on my post-graduation bucket list. Neither was waking up as Quinn Fairchild, the illegitimate daughter of a cruel lord in a world of magic and monsters. But at least I got some cool magical powers out of the deal, right? Well, sort of. Sure, I can create modern conveniences and heal people, but now I'm being married off to the infamous Earl of Norsewood-a man whose reputation makes hardened warriors tremble. Turns out this supposedly ruthless earl is actually a gorgeous, caring leader desperately trying to save his dying land. Armed with my 21st-century knowledge, a know-it-all magical creation skill, and a determination to build something amazing, I'm turning this medieval fantasy world upside down. One modern convenience at a time. Now if only I could figure out why my hunky husband keeps looking at me like I'm his personal miracle... The Modern Countess Series (formerly Apparently, I'm the Infamous Earl's Legendary Bride) is a fantasy romance series features a vivacious transmigrated heroine determined to revolutionize a medieval-like, war-torn world with her modern knowledge and magical abilities, alongside a hunky warrior-earl husband hell-bent on protecting his land and people while claiming his wife's heart. This series contains: • Slow Burn Romance • Kingdom Building • Magic System • Found Family • Politics & Intrigue • Food & Cooking • Slice of Life Note: A kingdom-building fantasy series follows protagonists as they develop and manage their domain, from humble villages to sprawling empires, while gathering loyal citizens and allies along the way.

Honoria Song was at Bridewater College with goals: good academic grades, a strong social network, to improve her magic and to try things she'd never dared to back home. Gone was the obedient, perfect daughter who'd never dared to venture out of her social circle. In her place was the new and improved Honoria, someone willing to take risks and push herself to her very limits in her pursuit of excellence. But England was no Hong Kong, and between the culture shock and change in environment, alongside the never ending stress of her JCMs (the magician's version of the GCSEs), she'll have to juggle the constantly evolving social scene of her new school alongside her newfound friendships and commitments. Her new friends were nothing like she'd expected. There's the shy and bitter Luo Yunji, a girl whose best friends were the instruments she held in her hand; rich and charismatic Adelina Roche, the envy of all, yet struggling with her family's crushing expectations and standards; James Withington, Adelina's childhood rival, a constant thorn in their side; James Taylor, quiet and observant and brilliant (but only in certain areas); the charming and cocky Sebastian Hong, who confuses her to no end; and mysterious and reserved Theodore Yu, the constant observer. But what was she here for, if not a challenge? karlie nyx 2022 summer project - completed book 1 of the bridewater college duology [90,000 - 100,000 words]
