Rune mages are rare and frankly everyone knows rune mages don't usually survive the training required to become a sanctioned mage. Rouge mages are hunted and killed. Logan Lofe is determined to finish the mage training as top mage, despite being a rune mage and limited to runes.

But his success comes at a high price even he can't predict. In a battle of him against an army, will his rune magic be enough?

You might enjoy this story if you like first person narratives, like magic and (possibly overpowered) underdogs who may or may not gradually become less stable as the story goes on.

If you're looking for a lot of descriptions of physical characteristics of characters or land or buildings... I'm not great at that and as a reader I prefer making my own descriptions. Feel free to leave ideas.

CONTENT WARNING:

When life gives you a second chance in a medieval fantasy world, make sure you revolutionize it. Getting hit by a truck wasn't on my post-graduation bucket list. Neither was waking up as Quinn Fairchild, the illegitimate daughter of a cruel lord in a world of magic and monsters. But at least I got some cool magical powers out of the deal, right? Well, sort of. Sure, I can create modern conveniences and heal people, but now I'm being married off to the infamous Earl of Norsewood-a man whose reputation makes hardened warriors tremble. Turns out this supposedly ruthless earl is actually a gorgeous, caring leader desperately trying to save his dying land. Armed with my 21st-century knowledge, a know-it-all magical creation skill, and a determination to build something amazing, I'm turning this medieval fantasy world upside down. One modern convenience at a time. Now if only I could figure out why my hunky husband keeps looking at me like I'm his personal miracle... The Modern Countess Series (formerly Apparently, I'm the Infamous Earl's Legendary Bride) is a fantasy romance series features a vivacious transmigrated heroine determined to revolutionize a medieval-like, war-torn world with her modern knowledge and magical abilities, alongside a hunky warrior-earl husband hell-bent on protecting his land and people while claiming his wife's heart. 17 parts Complete

Ren is a quiet teen in a small New Zealand town. He just wants to finish school, avoid the local bullies and maybe tell his best friend how he feels. But one blistering summer day he bursts into flames and emerges as the Sun God's champion: a radiant, female warrior. For generations, the Phoenix's power has passed through the women of his family, so his grandmother is as shocked as he is when it chooses a boy. As Ren struggles to control fire, wings and teleportation, strange phenomena - frozen lakes in summer, earthquakes that seem to think - signal that the world is unraveling. Ancient enemies known as the Shadows of the Eclipse feed on chaos and are awakening. Torn between hiding in his hoodie and facing a destiny he never wanted, Ren must decide who he is, what he will fight for and whether to trust the boy who's always been by his side. This isn't a fairytale. It's messy, queer, and sometimes heartbreaking. But if you're into mythic fantasy with real feelings, and a protagonist who literally sets himself on fire to save the world, jump in. The world's last Phoenix is a boy, and he's just getting started.
