It's Acornpaw's first Gathering when battle breaks out among ShadowClan and ThunderClan. Receiving a serious wound, Acornpaw must leave his future as a warrior to become a medicine cat.
But during the battle, Acornpaw saw something suspicious. Two shadowy forms of cats were killing off warriors on both sides!
To his luck, he has a lead on who the attackers are. He befriends one of the killers, a seven-moon-old rouge Monarch, and slowly turns her good.
Monarch, realizing her mistake, wants to help Acornpaw in any way she can. Even if it means killing her own mother to keep the peace.

But another danger arrises. Mysterious prophecies swarm around the leaders and medicine cats, warning about an evil unknown to even StarClan. Each Clan has their troubles, but this evil- this evil makes them even worse. Blossompaw is the apprentice to Crystalwing, the medicine cat of AirClan, but even with such an important role, she always feels ignored. Everyone swoons over her, sympathising with her, caring for her, when all she wants is for cats not to do that, to listen. However, when StarClan tell her of this evil, she may get the chance to prove herself to everyone. Rockpaw feels like an outcast, everyday being hated on by his Clanmates for seeing things differently. So when the chance to prove them wrong comes up, he doesn't give it a second thought. But the evil still resides, and Rockpaw might know more about it then he's letting on, even to himself. Greyshard, as a former kittypet, has always thought of life in the Clans as challenging. For her, everything seems to go wrong. Every plan, every schedule, every patrol - ends up in a disaster, and its always because of her.
