Regan knows she has very little chance of getting there, to the New World. Time has passed, and only a few more people might be lucky to continue their lives. She has come to terms that her parents will never make it, but her little brother Hughie and her best friend Demetrius are left with her too. Surely the three of them cannot make it together. Regan and Dem are pinning their hopes on the Elders to choose Hughie to be a new citizen, in order for him to stay alive in the New World.
But things are not always what they seem. Everything that held relevance in Regans' past is gone. She must now face a choice: To survive in the wildly, unexpected future unfolding before her eyes; or to look for those who have no existence except in her memories.
Was her previous world an illusion? If not, will she be able to uncover the mystery that has shrouded the very existence of all those whom she loved?
