Ernwood Forest is home to winged people no bigger than a person's hand. Hidden away from the eyes of all humans, they live within the woodlands in three secrete tribes. Things can be tough in a world so much bigger than you, but the tribes are strong and protect the tiny people against all dangers. Even humans.


Three tribes. Only three. That is the truth everyone knows. Until Rosin discovers that what she grew up believing doesn't even scratch the surface of what's out there in the forest.

Rosin Magnolia hates people. The safe refuge everyone around her calls 'home' feels like a prison to her- so when she learns that there are other tribes somewhere in the forest, the decision to leave is hardly a choice. 
She makes it her mission to search the woodlands and bring the lost tribes together. But to do that, she'll have to leave her own tribe behind... which means leaving the people she loves most in the world. 

The forest is rife with predators. Beasts like humans; towering beasts that prowl through the trees without care or concern for the life they might trample. Leaving might just turn out to be a suicide mission. But Rosin soon begins to wonder who is in more danger- the tribes she is looking for, or the one she left behind...

Though, I know she only says that because I'm just like my father; who went out to curb his appetite for new experiences and never came home. Do I feel abandoned? No. How could I? Not when I fully understand the craving... Fae almost never leave Avalon. It's rare, and normally Fae that leave Avalon are forced into exile. Hardly ever do they leave voluntarily. My mother hates to see me leave, and a part of me is ashamed to do so, seeing as I'm basically abandoning her like my father. But she has my baby brother, Almned, who isn't even 500 yet. And I'm one penalty away from serving time in the Avalonian Guardhouse. Which is ridiculous, considering I have only broken a few rules. Avalon used to be a vast place of freedom, a sanctuary for persecuted Fae, the Homeland where everyone had a voice. Well... Avalon is not what it used to be... Maybe the Otherworld will be big enough to spread my wings. *** What happens when a Fae leaves Avalon and befriends a Human? Yes, my book is rated mature. Though, it really isn't THAT bad. In this true-to-life story, Aimi, Roci, Mousi, Sybil and Sycamore are a loose group of friends, aka The Bunch, who attend school together. The Bunch go to a 150-year old church camp, Mount Hermon, founded around the time of the first gold rush in 1849. The camp is located in a giant forest situated in the Santa Cruz mountains of California, just over the hill from Silicon Valley. In keeping with the principles of its founders, Bart, Prissie and their adopted son Artie, the camp administrators want the camp to be a modern day refuge for children like the Bunch who live at a time when many people around them, including their parents, are chasing new gold in their area. Each member of the Bunch becomes seemingly inexplicably lost in the giant forest. They must each find themselves, then find one another before they can together again find their way home. Along the way they receive help from new animal friends whose ancestors had previously received a life-saving kindness from the founders of Mt. Hermon. Along the way, each member of the Bunch battles with and finds resolution to problems they face at home from overbearing or neglectful parents, sibling rivalry, prejudice, betrayal and displaced loyalty. When the five become reunited, bigger battles ensue. To return home they must overcome giants that have plagued them throughout their lost experience. Once victorious, the Bunch is led back to Mt. It also doesn't help when their helicopter suddenly malfunctions and the group ends up crash-landing in the middle of a dense jungle with no way of contacting the outside world for help. and to make things worse for poor Lyra, something seems to be stalking her in this new and unfamiliar environment. It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.
