With the battle on Fortunia in the past, the Second Camaraderie finally has the chance to enjoy a break from the combat the last year has brought them. However, what should be a cheerful reunion brings them tragedy in the form of news from Rivergold: the planet is dying, and a peculiar mage bathed in oil is actively destroying it inside out. Simultaneously, people across the magical universe begin to disappear for unknown reasons. Luce and the rest of her group follow Cessair's request to try and save the dying planet by fighting off the mage that is destroying the peace and oceans, given the parallel task of finding the disappeared people by a mysterious society of mages and the royal family of Rivergold.
