All Carlos wants is to nurse the heartache of a recent breakup, but when his sister pressures him into spending the day with his goofy nephew Diego, Carlos discovers Diego could be the key that frees him from his rut and unlocks the door to true love.

* * * * *

Carlos can think of countless reasons to avoid hanging out with his ten-year-old nephew, Diego: Girl Scout cookies that need to be eaten, a twenty percent chance of rain, and the fact Diego enjoys listening to Rascal Flats. Most importantly, though, a recent breakup has Carlos wanting to hole up in his apartment all by his lonesome. But when Diego's mother refuses to let Carlos off the hook, he takes Diego on a day trip through L.A. that results in spirited debate and a soul-crushing predicament. Even though Carlos takes this opportunity to help his nephew navigate the challenges of childhood crushes and growing up, he discovers Diego may have his own lessons to teach about life and love.

"If you asked me three months ago what heartbreak was, I would tell you it's losing somebody close to you due to unspeakable circumstances. But right now, in this moment, I would say it's you. I would say it's the feeling I got in my chest when I realized I was out of time. When I stood in the rain and yelled for you to stay, but all I saw was your back. I would say heartbreak is lying in bed at two in the morning, watching my ceiling fan go around and around, wondering why you couldn't stop to listen. Two seconds. All I needed was two seconds to say the words. All I needed was to seconds for me to tell you I was in love with you. With everything about you. With the way you move, and the feeling of your arms around me. With the feeling of your chest vibrating as you laugh. Heartbreak is falling in love with everything about you, but having the words permanently stuck in my throat." _____ Gracelyn Levinsky grew up with Daniel Grey. She has always looked to him as a brother, but when she escapes from her abusive Mom and moves to the same town Danny moved to when he was ten, she finds out that he's in love with her. WARNING: R-RATED MATURE CONTENT Gabe stalks towards me, and I back away until my back hits his door. He puts both his hands up against the door trapping me. "Admit it Skylar, you feel something between us," he purrs. "N-no I don't," I lie. "Your lying," he calls me out. "And now that I know there's a chance, I'm not letting go of you that easy." "W-what is that supposed to mean?" "It means my baby brother better watch his back, cause he now has competition." "You're crazy," I look at him in disbelief. "Crazy for you," he breaths against my mouth. He catches me off guard by wrapping his hand around the back of my neck and pulls me into him, crashing his lips to mine. He tongue gets access to mine and he presses his body against me, making it harder for me to break free. No way, I'm not giving in this time. I push him off of me and slap him across the face. "Stay away from me!" I shout, and storm out of his bedroom. I run out the house, and thank god he doesn't follow me. Once I feel like I'm far enough I stop and take a breath. What the hell is happening? How could everything go so wrong and so upside down in just a couple of days. I came here for a distraction, to get away from my broken family; not to be stuck in some twisted telenovela. And the worst part . . . I know this is only the beginning. ************** Skylar graduates high school and decides to go to her Aunt Stacey's beach house in laguna beach for the summer with her two best friends Anna and Kelly. She also came to visit her boyfriend Ben who is also her aunts neighbor. Even though coming back won't be the same with her brothers passing, she hopes this vacation will help distract her from the pain. Surprisingly, the only person that has been a good distraction is her boyfriends hot older brother Gabe.
