Kennedy Pearson had spent the majority of her life keeping others out. Her whole high school career she spent without a single person to call a friend, but she was fine with that. As long as she didn't have to spend time with any of her annoying peers she was happy. However, she's moving on to college now, a college far away from home and she has no choice but to ask someone for directions to her dorm room. Then she realizes who she asked. Duncan Kelly. That one boy who talked to her the night of her graduation. The only boy that really has talked to her. It makes Kennedy's stomach turn upside down at the thought of speaking to him further, so she tries to run away from him again just like the night of their graduation . Only he doesn't let her get away this time.

- Nessa - I'm used to Phoenix being my brother Finn's cocky best friend-the guy who always ruins my fun whenever I find someone interesting. But when I was drugged at a party, he was the one who found me and made sure I was safe. After that, something changed between us. Suddenly, we're spending more time together, and he's not as much of an arrogant jerk as I thought. The lines between annoyance and attraction are blurring, and it's confusing. Maybe he's not just Finn's best friend anymore. - Phoenix - I've had feelings for Nessa since the moment we met, but I buried them deep because of Finn. After I found her that night, unconscious, everything I'd pushed aside came rushing back. I tried to play it cool, but being around her now makes it harder to keep my distance. She's not just Finn's sister-she's Nessa, and my resolve is slipping. I'm not sure how long I can keep pretending I don't care.
