Due to the citizens fearing the youths and having concerns over an economic shutdown, the US government decides to entact a popular program from overseas.....Inspired by the battle Royale series by Koushun Takami, A What if story, about the US government and what if they decided to enforce a battle royale system of their own where a group of students who are randomly selected are forced to fight to the death until only one remains.

In 2XXX, a virus escapes containment. Said virus corrupts youth (aged 13-18) for wanting A Peculiar bloodlust. This bloodlust doesn't turn teenagers into savages, no. It just gives a thirst to kill. Only very few can resist it. This story takes place fifty years after the governments of the world created the Darwin Initiative. An idea that allows for students to kill each other. But in the 50th year, the year this story is set, teachers can now kill students and vice versa. At the end of a year, the teams must elect their best player to fight in a battle Royale against other team representatives. The battle Royale lasts for up to five days. The survivors may graduate or pass to the next year, if they do not survive; the rest of the team will be held back. But some players, may go lone wolf. Follow Jason Walker, a young talented writer whom has advanced skill with any knife, and his comrades in their journey through the eight grade. This group's name is the Joking Corpses. The JC contain three of the best fighters in the nation. Mia Fall, an Apex Predator, Jason Walker, a Clawed Predator, And Kai Gracefield, a Wolf in sheep's clothing. The JC go through the year, encountering fewer allies than foes. Each of these foes seem to put the fear of death, into Jason and his team. Rules of the DI: 1. Students may or may not kill each other both on and off school grounds 2. Students may kill teachers and vice versa 3. Students and Teachers are only allowed weapons that the country allows 4. In the year 2030, prisons all around the world have become severely overpopulated because of increased crime rates. The government comes up with a proposition. A dozen massively overcrowded prisons handpicked by the President himself, will be allowed to kill each other in a battle Royale type scenario. The prison will be stocked with blunt weapons, like baseball bats and pipes. The prisoners are given a week and if any of them are still alive by the end of a week, the remaining survivors get to go home free.Complete

Ellie is a soldier in a world without governments. A generation ago, a series of financial crises caused most of the world’s governments to collapse, and left many of the people in those countries in terrible personal debt. Since then, the worst debtor nations have been under military occupation by the troops of the debt recovery corporations, and the worst debtor of all is Měi-guó, the old United States. Ellie is serving in the Afghan Police Action when she receives bad news from home. She is told the daughter she hasn’t seen in years is dead. She flies home from war, upset, to do what needs to be done, but once there she finds out all is not as it seems. Ellie’s daughter is alive and unhurt. She is being held by of one of the many debt-recovery corporations. Held, for leverage, to make Ellie do the corporation a favour. Ellie’s daughter will be returned unharmed if Ellie does as they wish. The son of a company director is lost somewhere in the wilderness of post-debt-restructuring America, and hasn't been seen for three days. The company wants Ellie to go and find the kid, and Ellie doesn't know if she can. The one rule she's stuck to all her working life is to never to go to America, but now she might have to. She will have to, if she wants to save the daughter she hasn't seen in years.
