After the sudden death of the ruler of the Valkyrie, her daughters must obtain permission from the King of Night to rule. He offers an ultimatum: have the eldest, Venelia, marry him or crown any Valkyrie twins who bring him the head of whoever killed the fallen Sena.

Venelia choses another option, and in doing so, she ruins everything. To stop the world from falling apart, the Kings and Queens of the world convene and use ancient magic to change the past, but it comes at a terrible price.

Suddenly, the world is full of new kingdoms and peoples and magic, and new memories for all involved. Some of them conquer their memories and hold onto who they other, but others fall prey and the Queen of the Seas declares war as the formerly dead Kingdom of Cinders rises around them and threatens to burn the world to the core.

Venelia and Cerdiwen must stop it or risk the end of everything, even the Valkyrie.
