Andy thinks he's lost forever when his aunt's chimney transports him and his dog, Chip, into the magical world of Emerraine. To get home, he must save the Hearthstone Village with Elsie, a young witch, and her Familiar against a dark plot that has been brooding for years.

How can one summer go wrong when on the first night of his vacation, Andy becomes an instant hero? Through a series of twisting events, angry forest trees, talking flowers, a hungry pack of wolves and a monster octopus, he must save the village from a vengeful evil witch who plans to shower a fiery doom upon them.
