Alice Willow had been an orphan since she was five. she was always been different from the other kids there. unlike everyone else she wanted to not be adopted, but luck didn't have her side because a couple with a 8 year old boy come walking into the orphanage and pick Alice from all the other kids. By this time Alice was 6 and she didn't trust anyone. No one knows of her past. As she grows up the couple tries to reach out to Alice and show her love, but Alice ignores them. Dallas (the couples son) is the only one Alice trusts and that's only a little bit of trust. She's not a bad girl who does bad things, she just can't trust anyone. She's just a girl that hides a secret that no one knows of and hopefully never will. Alice knows there danger around ever corner.

It can only be unlocked by the person who has the key and no matter what method is used, it cannot be broken. Cecilia would rather just forget the whole thing, refuse to give Ezekiel the satisfaction he so wants, and remain handcuffed to Maisie for the rest of her life. It doesn't take long to realize that it's just not possible. Maisie is everything that she shouldn't be in the human realm. Bigoted, rude, and annoyingly difficult. She can't even get close to Cecilia without making some sort of remark on how she can't stand Demons. As the time ticks down and options become less and less, maybe being handcuffed to each other will teach Cecilia and Maisie a thing or two about themselves.
