A short collection of poems I wrote for my college poetry portfolio. I experimented with imagery/descriptive language, figurative languages, metaphors, alliteration/assonance, repetition, and even wrote a Shakespearean sonnet.

Overview of each poem:
Power Outage - Freeform poem about a blackout I experienced in my hometown at the end of January 2021.
Community Center - Image-filled poem about my partner and him practicing radio
Ballerina - Poem playing with imagery, end rhyme, internal rhyme, and parallel structure while talking about my experience as a ballerina
Lilo the Leopard Gecko - Comparative figurative language  and alliteration to describe my pet leopard gecko
Abandoned - Experimented with metonymy, imagery, and parallelism; this poem is told from the perspective of my rescue dog

Love Me While You Can by 4rtemispt

At St. Vincent's Palliative Care Center, people don't come to get better. They come because there's nowhere else to go. Raphael Vierre, a 22-year-old with a sharp tongue and a penchant for sarcasm, has been in and out of hospitals for the last five years. Diagnosed with a rare, incurable heart condition, his days are numbered, and he knows it. But he's made peace with it-until he meets Ciro Solis, a delicate, angelic-looking boy with soft eyes and a quiet voice who has his own ticking clock. Ciro has kidney failure, but unlike Raphael, he still believes in miracles. He believes in living-not just waiting to die. And for some reason, despite Raphael's cynicism, he chooses him. What starts as an unlikely friendship turns into something deeper, something terrifyingly beautiful. But they both know the truth-one of them will leave the other behind. Or at least, that's what they think. Because what if one of them was never meant to die in the first place? What if their meeting wasn't a coincidence, but a second chance given to only one of them? And in the end... who gets to live?

She is an outcast. She finds it easier to express what she feels in the form of writing. Whether it is poems, letters or long texts. These are poems that she writes trying to describe how it feels to live with certain mental health issues, in a world that disregards outcasts. So, these are on the darker side of the spectrum. Some poems might be distressing for some readers. I personally enjoy consuming dark content, it's kinda like a coping mechanism. I really hope none of you relate with any of these :) I'll be posting only poems here, I'll try to be as active as I can. The poems are not in any order.
