OG Back story: Dazai Osamu was a famous japanese writer, He is known for his book "No longer human" (also the name of his supernatural ability in the anime) Whom he committed suicide succsesfully after publishing it. This- However, Wasn't Osamu's First attempt in suicide. He had numerous failed attempts before, just like the anime dazai.

Anime backstory: Dazai osamu's childhood wasn't much known, His first appearance as a child (season 3) was when he was in the hospital after attempting suicide. When he told the doctor, Disguised as the port mafia boss- That his parents just had left him there. After, Mori took in dazai and trained him to become a part of the port mafia. When dazai was 14 he witnessed mori kill the former boss and become the new boss. This is where he started training dazai to become his right hand man. This training was brutal, Physically and mentally. After all the training was done dazai took in akutagawa to join the port mafia- And started training him brutally from the teachings of mori. It is uncertain when dazai met his best friend and drinking partner Odasaku, Who later died from a batal. However when oda died he told dazai to "Find and do good in life." and that's what dazai did. He quit the port mafia and started working in the armed detective agency. Meeting atsushi, an orphan he saved.
