You just got home from a long day at work.
Do you really want a prank caller to try and scam you?
Or maybe something else is going on, and you just became entangled in irreversible events which will lead to an untimely end.
I wrote this short story a long time ago and so it isn't up to my current standards.

Nothing good can come from the telephone ringing at 3am. Every night at 3am Zeke's phone rings. Twice. The first, a hang-up. The second call though... The second phone call is a stranger reciting the same song lyrics. Zeke's getting real sick of the prank. As a homicide detective, getting a full night's sleep is a rarity. Even more so now that he's plagued with the prank calls. But when local young men begin to go missing, only to turn up dead a few days later, Zeke has to wonder if his mysterious prank caller is connected to the cases...Complete
