I heard the water drip from a tap nearby as I jumped from one step of the stairs to another.

Something blocked my view like a fog. Well, it was a fog. It blurred my vision until I missed my step and twisted my ankle.

I fell but the sound echoed in this hollow basement wasn't mine "Hello?"

A hiss of wind swirls past me and I whipped my head away "Who's there??" 

Suddenly someone was behind me, his hand secured on my throat "You're very own soul reaper" and I already knew who it was.
