BLURB:
Lying on the grass, one leg straight, the other folded. Quincey was covering his eyes with his arm. I came closer to him, not as scared as I thought I was going to be because he looked calm, approachable. I crouched next to him and watched as he breathed peacefully. At first I wanted to just leave his phone next to him and go, but it could get stolen if he didn't notice it was there.
The best thing to do was to simply give it to him. After boosting myself for a little while, I poked him lightly with my index finger.
"Hmm," he growled without moving an inch. "Do I look like someone who wants to be disturbed?"
His voice was harsh, almost mean. My heart pounded as I felt my throat squeeze.
"Oh...," I whimpered sounding like a crying seal.
He removed his arm from his eyes, and looked at me like I was some kind of specter, the last person he expected to see.
"Shannon?" Quincey furrowed his brows in disbelief.
He sat up so quickly I flinched. I immediately stood up, my legs itching to escape, forgetting why I came to begin with.
"Wait," I felt his palm graze my fingers failing to grab me before I ran off.
